What is the purpose of this blog?

"Listen, I want you to know that I get out of control on a regular basis—because I’m consistently tossing the rock a little further, challenging myself to knew levels of expressing and fulfilling my destiny on the planet and recalibrating all my systems to match. How are you doing?" - David Allen in Getting Things Done Fast

We all have things we want to do in this life, along with all sorts of things that we don't want to do.  Being effective and efficient in doing these things serves both purposes.  If it is soemthing we don't want to do, being effective and efficient in accomplishing it, lets us get it out of the way in the optimum manner so we can move on.  And if it's something we want to accomplish, being effective and efficient helps us get it done right.

I'm a big fan of Lifehacks.  But I've found there is too much information on the life hacker websites to really be of much use to me.  I would try some cool new idea I found on the site and then drop it for some other cool new idea.  I never actually took the time to develop a habit and so any gains that might have come from such a good idea, would be lost, because I jumped onto the next thing that would make me more effective and efficient.  This isn't to say I won't make posts linking to cool concepts out there, but that isn't what this site is mainly about.

This site will be an ongoing case study of me changing my life, one new habit at a time.  I find a new thing to change and I trying to make that change for 30 days, try to build a habit out of it and see what effects it has, see what it does in making me more efficient and effective.

I also see this as a forum to work with ideas.  To look at possibilities out there and discuss with people how they might work, how to measure it if it were to become an experiment and what tweaks might be good with implementation.

So, I guess once I start this, I will actually start with two experiments going, one being this blog and then the second being whichever experiment I decide to run with.

I hope you all enjoy!
